Liz Chrysler
Lost Legacyz: Weaving an American Tapestry of conflicting Cultures ~ Song of the Pines ~ Caddo Lake Tales
"My pen name is Liz Chrysler, the name most of my readers will recognize. I wrote many historical articles before and during the American Bicentennial of 1976. I earned my BA degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1987, with two majors, Communications and History. I began my return to college studies by taking ten hours of Spanish, simply to be able to translate many of the historical documents I was uncovering in researching the history of northwestern Louisiana. But my desire to complete a degree in history was reawakened, and I continued while working a full time job.

After graduation I began photo journalism. I met John Blanchard in Mansfield. He was the newspaper editor and publisher who published my first historical articles. When he published the Bicentennial Edition of The Mansfield Enterprise, he asked me to co-edit that special edition. I greatly enjoyed that work. I have been published in Louisiana Life, Louisiana Retailer, Southwestern, Western Treasures, Grit, Shreveport Journal, The Shreveport Times, and Southern Hardware. One of my photo-features published in North Louisiana Historical Association Journal won the Overdyke Award, an annual presentation of the Association for historical articles. Dr. Grady Bogue, Chancellor of LSUS at that time, wrote: "You write with clarity and have done a fine job of synthesizing concepts from both the literature and our guest speakers." This was for an event at my school. His letter ended with, "Liz, you have been reading and thinking and it shows in your paper."

While finishing my degree in a public relations class I was chosen to educate the public on Cystic Fibrosis, a project of our class at LSUS. This was part of a fund drive for Hillman House, a lodging for families of Cystic Fibrosis patients undergoing treatment at Shreveport hospitals. I chose a Cystic Fibrosis Poster Child for that campaign, and photographed the child and his sister at Hillman House door. I interviewed Dr. Bettina Hillman, a nationally recognized expert in CF treatment. The campaign was a success, and Hillman House is now open and functioning. At that time I was briefly married to a Bundrick, hence some of my best articles were published as Liz Bundrick. Perhaps that name helped in the area of Louisiana Tech, since Dr. Bundrick was well-recognized in that area. He was not the Bundrick I married for that brief time. After divorce I took back my Chrysler name.
In 2002 much publicity was about the upcoming Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase. I decided that was the ideal time to organize and complete my history of the first settlers in DeSoto Parish. As I worked on Lost Legacy, I queried various publishers, and PublishAmerica wanted my manuscript as soon as I could complete it. Now my name is on the Web pages of Barnes and Noble and Amazon. I am also one of the editors whose work was published in DeSoto Historical Society’s first edition of DeSoto Plume, A Digest of DeSoto Parish History. I served as editor for years, and recently was asked to take that job again."

Connie Cox
Taking Flight (Avalon)
"I’m a Southern gal, born and raised. Y’all and Bless Your Heart are part of my everyday vocabulary. In the Southern tradition, I married young to a great man (twenty –seven years so far), and have a brilliant daughter who graced me with a fantastic son-in-law.

Like most writers, I’m a voracious reader. I've loved reading romance every since reading about Trixie Belden's crush on Jim. I also read science fiction and fantasy

And I write whatever comes to mind."

Michael DeVault
Anything But Ordinary
"I was born in Greenville, Mississippi in March of 1977, and moved to Monroe, Louisiana before I could remember. My mom and dad divorced when I was a baby so I went through the whole single-mom-visit-dad thing. And we moved a lot. I have lived in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and several other states which I forget right now. I'm well travelled for my age.

When I was just a kid, I developed an interest in reading--alot. I've read classics, pop fiction, science fiction, Ayn Rand, religious works, and tons of non-fiction. I've also performed Shakespeare, classical theatre, and musical theatre. I enjoy art museums, independent movies, and have a penchant for Dali and W.M. Chase. I guess most people would say I'm rather artsy.

While not pursuing writing, I work in the internet business. It's quite fun. I've been an account executive, web developer, technical support rep, and content developer. I've also worked as a hardware technician and network engineer."

A. J. Rodriguez
Theodore Da Baer - Wizards and Other Tales - Cycle of Life - A Cajun Crawfish Tale
"The idea of Theodore was created during a tour of duty in Germany.  Since American TV programs were scarce, I would entertain our sons with stories of a magical bear and his struggles to realize his dreams.  These stories kept my children entertained for hours on end.

However, as all children must, they grew up and were no longer interested in my tales.  These stories were placed to the back of my mind as I continued my life.  The Army took us to many exciting places.  I had the opportunity to live in five different states, Europe and the Far East. In 1984, David retired and we moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In 2004, my dream became a reality when Publish America decided to publish my book."
